There are so many amazing places to check out around the Byford area, but all fellow dog owners out there will know just how much better a Sunday stroll or brunch is with your furry pal in tow.

We’ve scouted out the best dog friendly cafes, parks and walking trails close to your new home at Beenyup Grove, so clip on the lead, pack some treats and get ready to explore your new backyard together!

The Glades Dog Park
This purpose-built dog park is a great option for off lead exercise where your dog can get some fresh air in a quiet, safely fenced area. A magnificent tree in the centre of the park casts natural shade over the park and doggy bags and a bin is provided at the gate as well as seating around the outside of the park. Put your pup to the test on the agility equipment creatively fashioned from natural and reused materials. The Glades Dog Park is located at 13 Albizia Grove, Byford and there is limited street parking available.

Strand Lakeside Café
Refuel after an active play session with a meal at Strand Lakeside Café, just a stone’s throw from The Glades Dog Park. Four legged friends are welcome here as you sit back and take in the scenic lake views and tuck into a delicious meal and coffee. Fresh water bowls are provided for thirsty doggies too! What could be better than a pancake outing with your pup?! Check out their Facebook page for menu updates and opening hours:

Byford Bark Park
On the corner of Larsen Road and Sansimeon Boulevard lies the incredibly popular Byford Bark Park, a recently opened purpose-built doggy play park. Offering two fenced off sections, one for small dogs and one for large dogs, shade, seating for owners and agility equipment, there is something for everyone. A standout feature of the Byford Bark Park is the separate introduction zones between the small and large dog enclosures, allowing dogs to get comfortable around other dogs in a safe and separate space before entering the full park. Four legged friends of Byford (and their owners) love this social and safe doggy play area – maybe yours will too?!

Macora Walk Trail
If you’re looking for ways to get your heart rate up with your pooch then head to Macora Walk Trail, a 2.7km loop walk. Also known as the Byford Hills Walk Trail, the trail starts at Macora Falls and includes some of the most epic views in Perth. Pack some snacks and a camera before you set off and keep an eye out for stunning flora and fauna as well as some points of interest including the site of the old 1914 brickworks and historic water tank. Your dog will love getting out into the fresh air to explore new territory on this fairly easy walking trail, just remember to please pick up after them using the bins provided so we can keep the area beautiful for all visitors. Head to the Trails WA website for any updates or important information before heading out:
