We all know how special it feels to spoil your loved one with some quality time together, and with so many amazing eateries and venues to choose from around Perth, it’s hard to zero in on a final decision. While something standard like a dinner is great, it’s nice to go the extra mile and do something a little unique on occasion, something memorable and not your stock-standard date night activity.

To help you impress your beloved/boo, we’ve put together a list of some of the best date ideas in and around Byford.

Something Adventurous

With nature right on your doorstep, why not introduce your date to some of the great activities you can try near Byford? Make the most of the warmer weather and go on a beach date and hit up nearby Rockingham for the day. Laze around on the sand, splash in the waves or hire a WASUP paddle board and spend the afternoon exploring the local coastline. Brush off the sand and then head up the beach to Rustico for a post-swim sangria jug and tapas feast.

Something Fun

Located in our very own suburb of Byford, Cohunu Koala Park offers emu feeding, koala cuddles and exploring the great outdoors. Just a seven-minute-minute drive from Beenyup Grove, the park is situated on 14-hectares of vibrant bushland and is home to a variety of Australian fauna and flora. We think it’s pretty romantic to snuggle up to your date while you take a selfie with one of their cute koalas.

Something Sophisticated

If you and your loved one are looking for a culture fix, then we recommend planning a day trip to the port city of Fremantle. It’s the perfect all-day date spot – the water, the cafes, the bustling markets, the galleries (if you choose the right day of the week) and the beaches. Kick things off with a coffee along South Terrace before you make your way to the vibrant Fremantle Markets. Visit the World Heritage site at Fremantle Prison – it’s a really interesting tour and reveals so much about our state’s history. Don’t forget to pop in for lunch at the newly opened Gage Roads Brewery, where you can spend the afternoon wining and dining, a fitting end to this ultimate romantic day out.

Something Delicious

Sometimes getting dressed up and heading out to be wined and dined is just what the Love Doctor ordered. Millbrook Winery lies 20 minutes from home and is well-known for their special ‘No Waste Mondays’ degustation menu. Bookings are essential as the kitchen uses up the week’s leftovers during each service, and everything is portioned out to the number of diners booked. There’s no menu, and dishes may differ from table to table as the kitchen uses every last ingredient in an inspiringly delicious and eco-friendly way. Talk about eating with a green conscious . . .

If a casual dining experience is more up to your alley, then book a laid-back picnic lunch at the Winery. The team provide a rug, cutlery, and glassware as well as a basket packed full of goodies like fresh salad, homemade pâté, freshly baked baguettes and lots more. You can even grab a bottle of wine from their cellar door to enjoy in your secluded corner of their estate.
