Cohunu Koala Park
Located in our very own suburb of Byford, Cohunu Koala Park is the ultimate day out for koala cuddles, emu feeding and exploring. Situated on 14 hectares of natural Australian bushland, and only a 7-minute drive from Beenyup Grove, the park is home to a huge variety of unique Australian fauna. Kids will love taking a ride on the Cohunu Park Railway, getting up close with koalas and posing for a photo with a replica dinosaur! Open every day from 10am to 4pm, admission for children under 3 is free, children 3-13 years $5 and adults 13 years and over are $15. Make sure you bring your camera to snap all the fun!

Bush walking
Lace up your walking shoes and hit the Marcora Walk Trail for an active day out with the family. Commencing at Marcora Falls, the walk trail takes visitors on a 2.7 kilometre loop walk which does include some steep sections but once you reach those views – it’s all worth it! Head to 100 Beenyup Road, Byford to start the walk, just an 8-minute drive from home, and don’t forget to pack a hat, sunscreen and water, especially during summer.

Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre
This multi-purpose sports facility offers active fun for Byford residents of all ages. Owned by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, the community recreation centre are dedicated to creating a healthy and safe community for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re looking for group fitness, social sport groups or before and after school care, look no further! The YMCA School Holiday Program is also running at the moment, which caters for children in Kindergarten to Year 6 and offers a vibrant program of activities. Harvest Green Park
Nothing beats a day in the park, whether it’s a leisurely picnic with family and friends or an active run with your furry friend. Lucky for Beenyup Grove residents, there are plenty of parks nearby to enjoy. One of our favourite local spots has to be our very own Harvest Green Park! It’s the perfect place for children of all ages to burn off some energy on the start of the art play equipment and wide-open spaces. Head down there for an afternoon play or relaxing morning with your favourite snacks in tow – no computer required!
